The Searcy

County School District Vision rests upon the following three pillars:

I. Implement Systems of Support

● Response to Intervention: Implement a tiered system of academic and

behavior interventions and extensions.

● Create safe, supportive and orderly learning environments: Behavior matrix,

interventions, positive reinforcement, developing positive student

relationships, supervision.

● Hold students accountable for their behavior.

● Develop family and community partnerships.

II. Establish a Collaborative Culture and Collective Efficacy

● Work in collaborative teams and take collective responsibility for all

students.

● Develop and implement a guaranteed and viable curriculum.

● Foster teacher and student efficacy: appropriate rigor, high expectations,

support, accountability, a year or more of growth, etc.

● Focus on the four critical questions that guide collaboration.

1. What do we expect all students to know and be able to do?

2. How will we know when they have learned it?

3. How will we respond when students don’t learn?

4. How will we respond when they already know it?

● Engage in collective inquiry regarding best practice and action research with

evidence.

● Create challenging learning environments with quality instruction.

● Provide meaningful opportunities for students: honors and advanced

placement courses, athletics, vocational courses, career pathways, etc.

III. Ensure a Focus on Results

● Create and implement SMART goals at the district, school, teacher

teams, and student levels.

● Develop and analyze formative and summative team assessments to

inform our decisions.

● Utilize data organizers and data analysis protocols to reflect on our

individual and team practices and plan instruction.

● Take responsibility and act with urgency!
